NIH Baby Toolbox Norming Study
The NIH Baby Toolbox is a comprehensive battery of cognitive, motor, and social-emotional assessments designed for infants and toddlers aged 1-42 months. It was normed using a nationally representative sample of infants and toddlers aged 16 days to 48 months old from the English and Spanish speaking US households (N = 2515).
Participants were recruited from 16 locations in every US census division and matched to the 2020 census.
Enrollment targets: age and sex within geographic census region, race, ethnicity and parental education.
NIH Toolbox V3 Cognition Battery Norming Study
The NIH Toolbox® for Assessment of Neurological and Behavioral Function Cognition Battery (NIHTB-CB) is a brief neuropsychological assessment tool created as part of the NIH Neuroscience Blueprint.
It was recently re-normed in a large English-speaking sample of n = 3,904 individuals from the U.S. population, stratified by age, race and ethnicity, sex assigned at birth, and education level within the four U.S. census regions.

A total of 4,859 English and Spanish speaking participants were enrolled from 10 sites across the United States. The sample was stratified by age (ages 3-85 years), sex, and language preference (English or Spanish) and matched to the 2010 census.
Design and Deployment of a Fleet of Mobile Specimen and Data Collection Vans
The National Children's Study (NCS) was a large, ambitious U.S. federal initiative authorized by Congress in 2000 to follow 100,000 children from before birth to age 21, examining how environmental and genetic factors affect their health and development.
We designed and deployed a fleet of vans equipped for specimen (blood, urine, nail and hair clippings), anthropometric measurements collection and cognitive testing.
